SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the distribution of building materials product (primarily roofing and siding products) to residential and commercial builders and contractors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Safely operate company equipment to transport and pick up building materials product at designated warehouse locations.
• Communicate and work effectively with customers, dispatchers, management and other employees.
• Read work orders/ invoices to determine product needs for customer pick-up or delivery.
• Frequently lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Operate a forklift to load a customer's vehicle, load an Erie Materials delivery truck, unload a vendor truck, move product in stock, etc.
• Clean warehouse area(s) including organization of materials, sweeping warehouse floors and parking lot areas, emptying trash cans, etc.
• Perform additional responsibilities, as assigned.
CUSTOMER SERVICE & TECHNOLOGY INTERACTION:
• Provide personalized customer service through direct in-person conversations and phone conversations.
• Communicate with managers, other employees and customers.
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in all interactions, both in-person and electronically through technology mediums.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.
• Knowledge of building materials product is preferred.
• Forklift and/or Moffett experience are preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Strong basic math skills which include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
