Job description

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support the Micro-Electronics value stream in a Low Volume, Medium Mix, High Value manufacturing facility for spaceflight hardware. The successful candidate will work in a small team environment and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective manufacturing of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for the identification, control, and disposition of nonconforming material
  • Support manufacturing operations and provide effective communication to cross-functional teams during development, launch, and production phases
  • Create, monitor, and control production processes, equipment, tooling, and documentation
  • Support the design and development of production tooling
  • Provide process knowledge and training to production team members
  • Evaluate and disposition non-conforming material
  • Perform equipment installations, decommissioning, preventative maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and repairs
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and manage multiple processes and unique equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes in a low rate production environment
  • Support labor and tooling proposal estimates
  • Utilize basic CAD for design and documentation purposes

Skills and Technical Requirements:

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38534 standards.
  • Experienced with production processes including die attach (BESI/MRSI), flip-chip,  gold and aluminum ultrasonic wire bonding, and mechanical screening
  • Materials selection and design for MCM (Multi-Chip Module) manufacturing
  • Microelectronics packaging design and qualification testing techniques
  • Proven experience in supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in creating and controlling production processes and documentation
  • Experience in evaluating and addressing non-conforming materials
  • Capable of performing equipment-related tasks including installations and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes in a low rate production setting
  • Basic CAD skills, preferably with Creo
  • Knowledge of cleanroom, ESD, and FOD procedures
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
