Assistant General Manager โ€“ Metal Recycling

Missouri Metal Recycling

Webb City, Missouri

Salary: $80,000โ€“$130,000 annually, depending on experience

Missouri Metal Recycling is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join the leadership team at our Webb City, Missouri facility.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands the scrap metal recycling business and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day facility operations, employees, equipment, maintenance, safety, and production.

We are looking for someone who can help lead the operation today while developing into an even larger leadership role within the company.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager with the overall day-to-day operation of the recycling facility
  • Help oversee production, purchasing, processing, shipping, and yard operations
  • Provide leadership and direction to supervisors and employees
  • Work closely with the maintenance department to prioritize repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment availability, and downtime
  • Help ensure heavy equipment, processing equipment, trucks, and other facility assets are properly maintained
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, recovery, and operating costs
  • Maintain a strong focus on workplace safety and environmental compliance
  • Assist with employee hiring, training, development, accountability, and performance
  • Help manage inventory and material flow throughout the facility
  • Work with management to establish and achieve production and financial goals
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, and vendors
  • Step in and make operational decisions when necessary
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the scrap metal recycling industry required
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in a scrap recycling operation strongly preferred
  • Experience working with or overseeing a maintenance department required
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment and industrial processing equipment
  • Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap operations
  • Ability to manage people and hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive working environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize production needs, maintenance requirements, safety, and customer demands
  • Comfortable working both in the office and throughout an active scrap recycling facility
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Compensation

$80,000โ€“$130,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and ability to take on responsibility.
