Industrial Mechanical Project Manager / Estimator

Palmyra, PA
Full-Time | Direct Hire
$75,000–$95,000+, based on experience

Industrial Mechanical | Piping | Rigging | Millwright | Structural


We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanical Project Manager / Estimator for a direct-hire opportunity with an established industrial contractor based in the Palmyra, PA area.


This is not a general commercial construction PM position.


We are looking for someone with real industrial mechanical experience who understands piping, mechanical systems, rigging, millwright work, structural steel, fabrication, field installation, and the estimating required to put these projects together.


The right candidate should be comfortable taking a project from estimating and proposal through planning, material procurement, field execution, change orders, scheduling, and completion.


What You'll Do

  • Estimate industrial mechanical construction projects
  • Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and bid documents
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates
  • Perform takeoffs for piping, mechanical, structural, rigging, and millwright scopes
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, and project pricing
  • Manage awarded projects from startup through completion
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and schedules
  • Order materials and track project costs
  • Work closely with field foremen, superintendents, customers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Handle change orders, RFIs, job documentation, and project updates
  • Monitor job progress, productivity, scheduling, and profitability
  • Visit project sites as needed to review conditions and support field operations
  • Help identify potential project issues before they impact schedule or budget


What We're Looking For

Qualified candidates should have experience with industrial mechanical contracting, industrial construction, or a closely related field.


Strong candidates will have experience with several of the following:

  • Industrial piping
  • Process piping
  • Carbon steel piping
  • Stainless steel piping
  • Mechanical equipment installation
  • Millwright work
  • Machinery installation
  • Equipment setting
  • Rigging
  • Structural steel
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Plant shutdowns and outages
  • Food processing or manufacturing facilities
  • Industrial maintenance and repair
  • Mechanical construction estimating
  • Project management


Ideal Background

  • 5+ years of industrial mechanical construction experience preferred
  • Previous estimating and/or project management experience
  • Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, specifications, and mechanical drawings
  • Strong understanding of labor, material, equipment, and production costs
  • Ability to estimate industrial piping and mechanical scopes
  • Experience coordinating field crews and subcontractors
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel to project sites when required
  • Valid driver's license


Field experience as a Mechanical Foreman, Industrial Superintendent, Pipefitter, Millwright, or similar role combined with estimating or project management experience is highly valuable.
