Job description

Air General, a third-generation, family-owned, national cargo handling company, is looking for a full time Warehouse Agent - Air Cargo at our Orlando International Airport (MCO) location.
The Warehouse Agent - Air Cargo will be primarily responsible for loading and unloading cargo (freight, and company material), transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft; the transfer of cargo where required; receiving, delivering, and physical handling of freight and company material, at the designated docks, the completion of forms and messages related to and necessary for the performance of the designated locations of the functions described. May be assigned to perform routine cleaning of work areas and facilities with or without powered equipment. May be assigned to assist in monitoring security of the facility. Complying with AG site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations. Remain cognizant of AG staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the applicable airport reporting system. The successful candidate should demonstrate the capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Job Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for moving air cargo within designated warehouses.
  • Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers.
  • Build up cargo for outbound flights.
  • Break down cargo from import flights.
  • Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks.
  • May operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks.
  • Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo.
  • May transport cargo to and from aircraft driving, 3,000 lb. vehicle using depth perception to negotiate vehicles with attached carts through congested areas. Reading "off-load" sheets to determine the destination of cargo.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor/management.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid airport SIDA badge.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid and unexpired US Driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks, applicable Custom Security Seal, and post offer drug screens.
  • Be available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to handle stress in a high-noise fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Some travel may be required for airline specific training.

Schedule: 11:30 am - 8:00 pm (Monday - Friday)
