Job description

TRC Talent is looking for a Machine Operator in Piedmont, SC!

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to support our growing production needs. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient operation of blow molding equipment and maintaining high-quality output. Unlike general production roles, this position requires hands-on expertise in managing a complex thermal and mechanical process. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in EBM operations, machine setup, troubleshooting, and process optimization.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM

  • Pay: $20-24/hr

  • Job Type: Temp to Hire

What You'll Be Doing

  • Operate and monitor extrusion blow molding machines to ensure consistent production and product quality

  • Manage and control the parison (molten plastic tube), ensuring proper wall thickness and length prior to mold closure

  • Perform machine adjustments using HMI systems to optimize performance and minimize defects

  • Troubleshoot and resolve common EBM defects such as flash, bubbles, streaking, and short shots

  • Adjust and maintain proper temperature profiles, air pressure, and cooling parameters

  • Perform mold installation, setup, and changeovers for different product runs

  • Conduct mold cleaning and basic preventive maintenance

  • Execute material and color changes in the extrusion process

  • Monitor and operate secondary equipment such as leak detectors, flame treaters, and trimming systems

  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards

  • Maintain accurate production and process documentation

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong understanding of blow molding processes, materials, and machine controls

  • Experience with HMI interfaces and machine fine-tuning

  • Ability to identify defects and make real-time process adjustments

  • Familiarity with mold setup, cleaning, and maintenance

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
