Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

This role involves supporting the ground-up construction of a large fruit storage building. You will work closely with a construction crew to set concrete forms, stand walls, and perform a variety of hands-on tasks in an open-air, open-ground environment. The position requires strong basic construction skills, consistent use of hand tools, and the ability to follow directions accurately and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with building a fruit storage facility from the ground up, including early-phase construction activities.
  • Set and secure concrete forms according to specifications and measurements.
  • Help stand and brace walls, working safely in an open-air, open-ground construction site.
  • Use a hammer regularly to perform framing, forming, and general construction tasks.
  • Read and interpret a tape measure accurately to support precise measurements and cuts.
  • Operate and use levels to ensure structures and forms are properly aligned and level.
  • Provide hands-on support to other workers and follow instructions from crew leads and foreman.
  • Work safely around construction tools and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with general labor tasks as needed, including basic production and packing-related duties tied to the construction project.
  • Use a scissor lift when required, following proper safety practices and site guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of real construction experience.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Proficiency in swinging and using a hammer for construction tasks.
  • Understanding of basic construction processes and tools.
  • Ability to run and use a level to ensure correct alignment.
  • Experience with new construction environments, including working from the ground up.
  • Capability to assist with forming concrete and related tasks.
