Job description

Scott’s Fencing Co. is looking for a reliable General Laborer to help keep our yard, materials, and daily operations organized. This is an active position involving material handling, truck and trailer loading, equipment operation, and deliveries and pickups.

The right person is dependable, organized, comfortable working around trucks and equipment, and able to learn the different fencing materials and products used by our crews. This position helps make sure our field teams have the materials they need each day.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare daily material loads for fencing crews
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers
  • Organize fencing materials and help keep the yard clean and orderly
  • Learn the different fencing parts, products, and construction materials used by the company
  • Use a forklift and Bobcat to move and load materials
  • Check loads and materials for accuracy before crews leave for the day
  • Make deliveries and material pickups as needed
  • Help move materials in and out of the yard efficiently
  • Work with field crews and other team members to coordinate daily material needs

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Experience driving with trailers
  • Good basic math skills and ability to accurately count and identify materials
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle fencing and construction materials
  • Comfortable working outdoors and around trucks, trailers, and equipment
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Self-starter who can work independently after receiving direction
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Previous experience in fencing, construction, landscaping, warehouse work, delivery work, or material handling is a plus.

Experience operating a forklift, Bobcat, or similar equipment is also helpful.
