Bio Fab Technologies (“Bio Fab” or the “Company”), headquartered in Pleasant Prairie, WI (on the WI/IL border), is a premier designer and manufacturer of high-end customized stainless-steel equipment and components for use in the pharmaceutical, food & beverage and industrial markets. Founded in 2006, Bio Fab was subsequently acquired by Holland Group, a private family-owned group of companies, in 2023. As we continue to grow, the Company is seeking a motivated individual to fill a General Laborer position.
Position Summary
The General Laborer supports manufacturing operations by assisting with fabrication, assembly, finishing, packaging, material movement, and shop support activities for custom stainless steel products. This role works closely with welders, fabricators, polishers, assemblers, quality, and shipping personnel to help ensure customer orders are completed safely, accurately, on time, and to Bio Fab quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist welders, fabricators, polishers, assemblers, and other production employees with daily shop activities.
• Prepare stainless steel materials and components by cleaning, deburring, grinding, organizing, and staging parts for production.
• Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products using approved material-handling methods.
• Assist with assembling stainless steel tanks, vessels, skids, piping systems, frames, and other custom fabricated equipment.
• Support hydrostatic testing, passivation, cleaning, final inspection preparation, and other production-related processes as directed.
• Clean and prepare stainless steel components and finished equipment for inspection, shipment, or further processing.
• Apply protective coverings, labels, packaging materials, and crating support as required for customer orders.
• Assist with packing, crating, and securing products for domestic or international shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including shop floors, benches, tool areas, and material storage areas.
• Follow work instructions, drawings, traveler requirements, quality procedures, and supervisor direction.
• Report damaged material, quality concerns, nonconforming product, unsafe conditions, and equipment issues immediately.
• Use required PPE and follow company safety rules, OSHA requirements, and safe lifting/material-handling practices.
• Support ISO 9001 quality system expectations and required documentation where applicable.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, construction, or industrial work experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and follow basic written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely after training.
• Good attendance, punctuality, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced custom manufacturing environment.
• Forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning welding, fabrication, polishing, assembly, or quality roles preferred.
Physical/Work Requirements:
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; heavier materials require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, metalworking equipment, and varying temperatures.
• Wear required PPE, which may include safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, face shield, and other assigned protection.
• Maintain safe work practices and immediately report hazards, near misses, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
Benefits
  • Competitive Base Salary and annual bonus target
  • Company-subsidized Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life/Disability Insurance (covered by company), HSA/FSA
  • Retirement savings plan (401k) with net 4% employer match
  • Industry leading profit share program
  • Unique schedule / summer days
