Job description

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The incumbent oversees day-to-day onsite construction activities, in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of projects. S/he directly supervises foremen and field labor, including subcontractors.
Base hourly rate of $37/hr - $49/hr
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists in the preparation/assembly of project schedules, job site offices, and equipment requirements.
  • Reviews project plans and specifications, and develops execution strategies to reduce potential construction problems and increase cost savings for the Company.
  • Identifies areas of work covered under the design/build contract.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and supervises field labor force activities to ensure quality, schedule, budget, and appropriate personnel needs are met in a safe working environment.
  • Plans and supervises craft activities, including determining manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, and work schedules from beginning to completion of projects.
  • Evaluates the performance of employees and subcontractors, and initiates corrective action as needed.
  • Enforces compliance and adherence to company policy, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintains liaison with key stakeholders to ensure work complies with drawings, specs, and schedule.
  • Assists with resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
  • Conducts daily walk downs of the project site to ensure safety compliance and job progress.
  • Controls and monitors labor, material, and equipment expenses and documents project performance.
  • Participates in training and development of new and existing employees.
  • Assumes responsibility for overall job site safety, completion of daily huddles, toolbox topics, incident investigations, and hazard mitigation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This position operates primarily on job sites, which means regular exposure to the hazards and/or conditions typically associated with active construction work, and routinely utilizes hand tools and other related technological equipment in the performance of job tasks.
  • Depending on the work location, the incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise, poor ventilation/lighting, and other hazards or conditions typically associated with a construction job site.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • The incumbent may occasionally be required to climb, kneel, reach, stoop, or perform repetitive motion.
  • This is considered a medium work position, which means possible exertion of up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to thirty (30) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

TRAVEL:
  • This position may require up to 20% travel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (including industry and construction execution).
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Current OSHA Certification.
  • Working knowledge of project management software programs.
  • Strong decision making, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google products.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with the requirements of drawings, specifications, and terms/conditions of project contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Must be fluent and able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Rigging and Signaling Certification.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Aerial and Scissor Lift Certification.
  • College or technical education.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
