Job description

Traffic Signal Installer Laborer
This position will be responsible for performing  various duties of troubleshooting, maintenance and repair duties on street lights and traffic signals. This role involves performing a variety of physical tasks on construction sites to support others and ensure projects run smoothly. 
 
Job Type: Full-Time +, Non-Exempt

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and assist with the wiring of street lighting and traffic signal and equipment
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up barricades, and unloading materials. 
  • Load and unload materials & distribute them to appropriate locations. 
  • Dig trenches, compact earth, and perform basic demolition tasks. 
  • Report hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors. 
  • Assemble and dismantle temporary structures. 
  • Help maintain a clean and safe job site.  
  • Operate hand and power tools of all types.  
  • Report to General Foreperson any issues involving maintenance of truck or equipment
  • Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate the work to be performed.
  • Perform other related and non-related duties as assigned.  
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work in a bucket or platform truck/device (L1-L3)
  • Able to read blueprints/plans and construct as per plans (L2-L3)
  • Able to direct and oversee Traffic Signal Laborers. (L2-L3)
  • Able to operate various equipment in order to install signal items (Bucket Truck, Digger Derrick/Boom Trk etc) (L2-L3)
  • Able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work. (ALL LEVELS)
  • Must possess a current DOT Medical Card or acquire one as part of pre-employment screening.  
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Pre-Screen
  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
License & Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's license required.
  • Valid CDL A license required.
Travel Requirements:
Must be willing to travel within the State of Florida as needed, overnight or out of town stay may be required up to 2 weeks as needed.
