ABOUT THE POSITION
The General Laborer will assist in all aspects of fabrication and will be willing to move throughout departments as needed. The General Laborer will also be responsible for fulfilling general cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the facility.
Deliverables & Responsibilities
• Clean and prepare production areas.
• Assist other workers on-site with various jobs.
• Handle and transport needed materials.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks.
• Comply with all safety protocols to ensure the safety of employees.
• Assists machine operators with loading/unloading material.
• Cleans, sorts and stages parts within Material Prep area.
• Assists production workers by supplying or sorting materials, as needed.
• Cleans designated areas by sweeping and wiping down surfaces.
• Maintains open communication with supervisor.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Computer skills are minimal but must be able to follow general instructions to clock in/out of payroll system.
• Must be self-motivated with the drive and determination to succeed and move up as jobs become available into other positions when the knowledge to advance is achieved.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a forklift.
• Position requires the individual to wear and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in order to perform duties.
• Individual must be able to perform the required duties of lifting, pushing and/or pulling weights up to but not to exceed to 50 pounds.
• Position will require frequent bending, stooping, and crawling.
• Individual is responsible for following safe handling guidelines when using chemical liquids and powders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing Environment
Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
