Qualifications

Purpose & Scope:

The Phlebotomist-VHCMG performs phlebotomy and general lab-related duties within the medical practice setting. The position also includes administrative and practice support tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with point-of-care (POC) testing, excellent communication skills. While staff is assigned a home site, they may be requested provide coverage at other office sites if needed.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

One year of healthcare/ medical - phlebotomy experience is required.

Completion of a certified phlebotomy training program is preferred.

One year of hospital experience is preferred.

Computer experience is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

Phlebotomy certification (CPT or equivalent) is preferred.
