Government Contracts Associate General Counsel
The Opportunity:

As a member of our Government Markets Practice Area, you'll help propel our forward-thinking and purpose-driven team as we advance our clients' missions. You'll serve as an attorney providing support and leveraging experience with procurement transactions at all stages, as well as regulatory compliance, as part of a broader legal department and the team of government markets attorneys supporting the government business across Civil, Defense, and National Security Sectors. You'll support as the lead Govt Markets point of contact for the Health market within our Civil Sector. This will encompass a wide range of complex transactional issues at the prime and subcontract levels, and involve providing legal advice and counsel for Market leaders and their teams. You'll anticipate business needs and develop practical solutions with agility and action. You'll establish trusted partnerships across the company and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics and Compliance team to protect and advance the company while navigating the complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal and compliance risks we face today. Guided by Booz Allen's purpose and values, together we'll anticipate and proactively prepare for the issues we'll encounter tomorrow. This position is located in McLean, VA. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Must Have:
  • 8+ years of experience practicing law in a law firm, corporate, or government environment, including supporting commercial and technology matters
  • Experience with government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations, and bid protest jurisprudence
  • Experience leading or assisting with prime contract and subcontract negotiations, pre-award support, and post-award counseling
  • Experience partnering closely with senior business leaders to develop comprehensive solutions to problems
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate risks and root causes, and to aid in designing and implementing practical mitigation strategies or action plans
  • Ability to listen actively and ensure that the right questions are being asked and answered and translate legalese or regulations into succinct, clear, and workable business solutions
  • Ability to execute against clear goals, priorities, and success metrics or KPIs, and manage against program plans
  • J.D. degree
  • Active bar admission with any U.S. state bar

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with commercial and non-FAR-based contracting, including federal or non-federal, or commercial
  • Experience with state or local procurement law, including state statutes, regulations, processes, bidding, and negotiations with state or local governments
  • Experience with government contracting, including in a professional services firm
  • Experience with software development or modernizing legacy or enterprise systems for government contracts
  • Experience with advising on product or solution-oriented sales
  • Experience with government contracts regulatory framework, especially rules and considerations for Post-Government
  • Experience advising on information security and data safeguarding statutes, regulations, and compliance frameworks across civilian agencies
  • Knowledge of employment and competition, antitrust, organizational, and personal conflicts of interest, or gifts and antikickback
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $162,800.00 to $303,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
