Summary

We are representing a growing construction organization seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead and oversee the Estimating department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive bids while aligning estimating efforts with company growth goals and sales strategy.

Based in Murrieta, CA, this position plays a key role in estimator development, relationship-building with General Contractors, and maintaining strong prequalification and bidding processes. The ideal candidate brings deep estimating knowledge, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive accountability, quality control, and performance across the estimating team.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Estimating department to ensure alignment with company goals
• Train and mentor new Estimators on estimating processes, tools, and best practices
• Serve as a resource for Estimators by answering questions and providing technical guidance
• Develop and maintain relationships with new General Contractors to expand bid opportunities
• Ensure the company is properly prequalified with General Contractors
• Follow up on estimating inbox communications to ensure Invitations to Bid (ITBs) are captured and scheduled
• Perform quality control on estimating logs to ensure all bids are accurately tracked
• Ensure Estimators are consistently following up with General Contractors on active bids
• Complete and review weekly Estimating scorecards
• Monitor departmental performance against weekly, quarterly, and annual goals
• Maintain and update the bidders list to track bid volume versus awarded work by General Contractor
