Job description

Know building materials? Know how to sell? Know how to build relationships?
We're looking for a Contractor Sales Representative who knows their way around lumber, hardware and building materials and knows how to turn that knowledge into sales.
If you enjoy working with contractors, builders and remodelers, developing relationships and helping customers get their projects across the finish line, this could be the opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
• Build and grow relationships with contractors, builders, remodelers and professional
customers.
• Prospect for new customers through phone calls, visits and networking.
• Provide expert product recommendations and solutions.
• Prepare quotes, material takeoffs and special orders.
• Coordinate jobsite deliveries and special requirements.
• Follow up on quotes and projects to win business and keep customers coming back.
• Stay informed on competitor products and pricing.
• Process customer orders accurately using POS systems.
• Maintain sales and gross margin goals.
• Keep management updated on sales activity, customer opportunities and upcoming projects
What We're Looking For
2-3+ years of sales experience in building materials, lumber, hardware or a related
industry preferred.
• Experience working with contractors, builders or remodelers strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of lumber, building materials and general hardware.
• Blueprint reading, residential construction or material takeoff experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable making sales calls and developing new business.
• Professional, dependable and customer-focused.
• Ability to safely lift up to 100 lbs., climb ladders and work in a store, yard, warehouse and jobsites.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
