Job description

Commercial Construction Estimator
Location: Greater Phoenix area
Salary Range: $75,000 - 115,000 (plus benefits)

TLW Construction, a reputable commercial general contractor established in 1983, is seeking a motivated and professional Ground Up Commercial Estimator to work with the TLW VP of Preconstruction by assembling and organizing complete project bids for ground-up commercial projects ranging from $2 million to $20 million. Job Responsibilities:

  • Create data-driven conceptual preliminary project budgets
  • Write subcontractor scopes and assist project managers through buyout
  • Execution of the entirety of the bid invitation process
  • Assist in subcontractor sourcing, relationships, and prequalification
  • Create conceptual and bid-phase project schedules
  • Facilitate clear communication and maintain strong client relations
  • Qualify subcontractor bid-phase RFIs and manage the document control communication with the design team
  • Establish detailed, qualified, complete and competitive project proposals and bid clarifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or Business
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Experience with scheduling software (MS Project or similar)
  • High level plan reading comprehension for civil, architectural, structural and MPE design
  • Strong technical and motivational writing and communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex project cost models.
  • High level MS Excel proficiency
  • Experience with web-based project management programs (Procore experience is a plus)
  • Self-driven, organized, and effective negotiator
  • Minimum of 3 years of estimating/project management experience in commercial construction
