In the role of Senior Technical Service Trainer working onsite at our service training center in Wisconsin you will be part of the Service Training team.

TheSeniorTechnical Service Traineris responsible fortraining/instructing technicians in all aspects of repair and installationfor Generac products. The senior trainer uses a variety of methods during the training sessions including classroom presentations andhands onlab instruction. In addition toin persontraining, the Senior Trainer willbe responsible forconducting some training via live stream.TheSeniorTechnical Service Trainer applies technical skills and knowledge of start-up, operation and troubleshooting of all Generac products. The positionis responsible formentoring andtraininglower leveltrainers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 5years field technician experience in HVAC, automotive, generator or similar discipline or5years combined field technician experience and technical training experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor'sdegree

  • Curriculum development experience

  • Experience evaluating and coaching instructor technique

  • Technician Excellence orASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification

  • Previousexperience using SAP or equivalent ERP

Essential Duties

  • Instructand traintechnicians in all aspects of repair and installationfor Generac productsusing a variety of methods including classroom instruction, hands on labs, and live stream training.

  • Lead the developmentoftechnical training curriculum.

  • Write and review technical documentation such as owner, installation, diagnostic and flat rate manuals and service and training bulletins.

  • Establishwarranty flatrates for new product prototypes.

  • Work with internal departments to fabricate training units.

  • Mentorslower leveltechnical service trainers.Assistsin onboarding andtraining oftechnical servicetrainers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge ofMS Office toinclude:MS Word, MS Power Point and MS Excel

  • Advanced skillsin writing and presenting / instructing technical information

  • Ability to develop testing plans

  • Technical aptitude to doadvancedgenerator start up and troubleshooting

  • Ability to deal with shifting priorities and moving deadlines

  • Highly organized and detail oriented;

  • Familiarity with hand tools and test equipment.
