Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Supervisor, Residential Care Specialist to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.
HAVENWYCK HOSPITAL (a UHS facility)
Havenwyck Hospital s a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. It is the ultimate goal of our dedicated staff to build strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient, in hopes that they may continue learning and understanding their needs and practicing self-care for the rest of their lives.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The RCS Supervisor performs routine residential care duties and selected non-professional services under the supervision of the Director of Residential Services, Program Manager. Duties include providing a safe and therapeutic environment while p roviding care to children/adolescents in a manner that considers safety, residents' rights and comfort. The RCS con tinuously observes the residents' behavior, mental status and activities, and reports this information to the appropriate clinical staff; a ssists with activities of daily living and encourages independent behavior. Other typical duties are assisting with adm issions, discharges and transfers and p articipating in the implementation of the resident's individualized plan of care.
Duties and responsibilities, to include; but are not limited to:
- Follows instructions given by Program Director as outlined in policies and procedure.
- Provides care to child/adolescent (9-18) in a manner that considers safety, residents' rights, comfort, level of development, and the therapeutic environment.
- Assists with admission, discharge, and transfer of residents.
- Assists with resident trips outside the center transporting residents in hospital van, as needed.

Qualifications
- High School diploma required.
- Associate degree in health care field or two years college, preferred.
- At least 18 months' experience in RCS role or positions commensurate to RCS role, required.
- Experience in dealing with the emotionally impaired, preferred.
- Experience in treating Impulse Disorder population, preferred. (On Impulse Disorder Unit)
- Provision of satisfactory motor vehicle operation report, preferred.
