Job Summary

American Express is seeking a highly skilled Gen AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration frameworks, scalable backend development, and cloud-native architectures. This role focuses on building intelligent systems that drive operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and support enterprise decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions for enterprise use cases.
  • Build intelligent autonomous workflows capable of reasoning over context, leveraging enterprise data, invoking tools, and supporting business decision-making.
  • Develop production-grade AI applications utilizing LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, and advanced AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Design and operationalize large-scale data pipelines to support AI model training, inference, and monitoring.
  • Implement AI-powered monitoring, evaluation, governance, and quality assessment capabilities.
  • Own the full AI solution lifecycle, including architecture, prototyping, deployment, optimization, and support.
  • Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, data engineers, and software developers to deliver impactful AI-driven solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, explainability, and Responsible AI standards.
  • Provide technical support and continuous improvement for GenAI and Agentic AI platforms and services.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and backend services supporting AI applications and workflows.
