Job description

Ready to drive success within our Analytics Domain?

Are you a versatile AI engineer who sees technology as a means to solve real business problems—not just as an end in itself? Do you enjoy challenging assumptions, uncovering the true needs behind a client’s request, and crafting tailored solutions that make a lasting impact?

At Datashift, we’re looking for a (gen)AI Engineer who thrives at the intersection of business and technology. You’ll work closely with clients to reveal the core challenges before diving into solutions, selecting the best‑fit approach—whether it’s generative AI, machine learning, statistical modeling, or something entirely different. You’ll build scalable applications from proof‑of‑concept to production, always keeping security and privacy top of mind.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a versatile engineer that dares to come out of the comfort zone and searches for the best technology to address specific data related business problems, whether it’s genAI, machine learning, statistical models, or other methods.

Work in an agile way and adapt to changing business needs.

Build solutions from POC to fully integrated applications, together with other Datashift experts.

Ensure customer constraints such as security and privacy are met as from the start when developing solutions.

Communicate effectively about your technical solution towards different stakeholders at all levels.

Participate as a technical expert in pre‑sales meetings.

Job requirements Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in industry, including experience in consultancy (preferred)

Background in business engineering, civil engineering, or related field

Proven track record ofsuccessfullydeliveringmultiple data & AI projectsinproduction

Knowledge of one or more AI-technologies, with the ability to understand how these technologies can be adopted in a business context.

Excellent communication skills, and proven success in contributing to a team‑oriented environment

Strong experience with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google)

Experience with one or more monitoring tools is a plus (e.g. MLFlow)

Strong affinity with software engineering best practices (in python), including testing & evaluation of AI solutions.

Fluent in English. Fluency in Dutch or French is considered as a big plus.
