The Math Tutoring Lab in the Tutoring Center provides tutoring and individual assistance to A-B Tech students in all levels of mathematics, including developmental. Assistants assist students with acquiring the skills necessary to succeed in their coursework. Assistants work directly with the students in a fast-paced, busy lab. Assistants provide tutoring to students of various abilities and backgrounds. Assistants supervise tutoring lab Aides and Peer Tutors. Assistants implement and enforce TC and A-B Tech policies, procedures, and guidelines while providing professional, helpful, and reliable assistance to students.
Duties
1. Tutor students in all levels of mathematics.ย 
2. Supervise Aides and Peer Tutors and lab activities.ย 
3. Communicate effectively with students, instructors, and staff. Provide customer service.ย 
4. Occasional data entry, record keeping, and general office duties.ย 
5. Provide a positive environment for student learning.ย 
6. Implement and enforce TC and A-B Tech regulations.ย 
7. Other duties as assigned by the TC Coordinator.
Minimum Requirements
1. Bachelor's Degree, or higher, with significant coursework in Math or a related field.ย 
2. Experience teaching or tutoring in a higher education setting and/or successful prior work experience in an environment applicable to the current position.ย 
3. Patience and the ability to multi-task.ย 
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Patience and ability to multi-task.ย 
5. Basic computer skills and the ability to use a graphing calculator.
Preferred Qualifications
1. At least 2 years of experience teaching or tutoring in a higher education setting.ย 
2. Familiarity with A-B Tech's campus and curriculum.
