Lead Math Instructor (Afternoons, Mon-Fri)
Location: Mathnasium of Norman
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:00 - 8:00 PM
Type: Part-Time (with a clear path to full-time / salaried leadership)
Mathnasium of Norman is looking for a Lead Instructor. This is a leadership role, not just a tutoring shift.
You'll be responsible for high-quality math instruction and helping set the tone and standards for the instructional team. This position is ideal for someone who is strong in math through Calculus, enjoys mentoring others, and wants to grow into a long-term role in education.
This is an excellent fit for:

  • A college graduate (or non-traditional student) with strong math and leadership ability

If you are currently in college, you must not be dependent on student housing and must be able to work through the spring, summer, and winter breaks.
What You'll Do
  • Teach students using the Mathnasium curriculum and instructional standards
  • Model excellent teaching practices for instructors
  • Support day-to-day instructional operations during program hours
  • Help maintain a calm, focused, and productive learning environment
  • Guide instructors in pacing, explanation, and student engagement
  • Assist with individual student curriculum development
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents when needed
  • Step into leadership responsibility when the Center Director is unavailable

This is a trusted leadership role with real responsibility and the strong possibility of growing into a salaried full-time position.
Requirements
  • Required
    • Availability Monday - Friday, 2:00-8:00 PM
    • Strong math skills through Calculus
    • Clear communication skills and professional demeanor
    • Reliability, maturity, and leadership presence
  • Preferred
    • Prior tutoring, teaching, or instructional experience
    • Experience mentoring or supervising others
    • Interest in long-term growth within education
    • Experience or working knowledge of early childhood development and education
