Location: 1468 Madison Ave,  NEW YORK, NY 10029
Position Summary: The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, patient care skills, and the ability to operate advanced MRI equipment to produce accurate diagnostic images that support clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform MRI imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Accurately position patients and associated coils to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
• Review and confirm all patient safety questionnaires before entry into the MRI suite.
• Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, expectations, and safety precautions.
• Evaluate images for quality, accuracy, and completeness; ensure timely transmission to PACS.
• Record all necessary patient and procedural data accurately in the IDX Radiology Information System.
• Maintain MRI room cleanliness and ensure supplies are stocked at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Ensure all images are appropriately labeled and meet departmental standards.
• Assist physicians and other medical staff during imaging procedures when required.
• Adhere strictly to MRI safety protocols to prevent the introduction of ferromagnetic materials into the scan room.
• Notify supervisors of any equipment issues, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs.
• Support infection control policies and maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
• Participate in continuing education, in-service training, and professional development activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience in an acute care or clinical imaging setting.
• GE MRI scanner experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, MRI physics, and imaging protocols.
• Excellent technical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to interact compassionately and effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
• Proficiency in the use of PACS and IDX (Radiology Information System) preferred.
• Prior experience working in a hospital or large imaging center environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
Education: Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T.-approved program in Radiologic Technology – Required.
Required Certifications & Licensure
• New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology – Required
• ARRT (MRI) Certification – Required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Required
