To thrive as a GDPR Intern, you need a solid understanding of data protection principles, privacy regulations, and ideally a background in law, IT, or compliance. Familiarity with compliance management tools, data mapping software, and Microsoft Office is typically required, and certifications like CIPP/E can be advantageous.
