Job description

Job Description:

We are seeking two (2) highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Support Specialists to join our team supporting the Georgia Army National Guard (GAARNG) at Fort Stewart, GA. As a Warehouse Support Specialist, you will provide critical logistics and supply support to the Army's Equipment Recovery Distribution Site (ERDS), directly contributing to a major Army modernization initiative converting units from a Light Brigade to a Mobile Light Brigade. You will serve as the technical expert assisting unit supply personnel with equipment turn-ins, inventory management, and property accountability through the GCSS-Army system. Your work will ensure that excess equipment is processed quickly, safely, and efficiently, supporting the Army's mission to be agile, lethal, and ready.

Key Responsibilities:
  • GCSS-Army Operations: Process equipment transactions, conduct inventories, and manage property accountability using the GCSS-Army system and SEAM (Soldier Equipping and Asset Management).
  • Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other mechanized equipment to move items within the ERDS facility, maintaining safe and efficient workflow.
  • Inventory Management: Record item locations, update inventory logs, and prepare reports to track equipment disposition and ensure accurate accountability.
  • Space Optimization: Assist in arranging stock to optimize storage space, prevent damage, and maintain orderly and organized work areas.
  • Shipment Coordination: Work with ERDS staff to coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring items are routed to correct redistribution or disposal points.
  • Operational Support: Support fast-paced operations to clear storage space and free up resources for active units, often under tight timelines.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to Army Materiel Command and Sustainment Command safety, security, and property accountability standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and successfully pass a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in inventory management and property accountability.
  • System Proficiency (MANDATORY): Demonstrated hands-on experience with the GCSS-Army system is mandatory. Applications without this experience will not be considered.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of government regulations, manuals, and procedures pertaining to inventory management and property accountability.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Availability: Must be available to work on-site Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
  • Training Compliance: Must complete required government awareness and security trainings (AT Level 1, iWATCH, OPSEC, IA) within specified timeframes.
Desired Experience:
  • Experience operating electric forklifts is preferred (Government will provide training if needed).
  • Experience with SEAM (Soldier Equipping and Asset Management) transactions.
  • Experience supporting Army Transformation Initiatives (ATI) or unit inactivation/divestiture processes.
  • Knowledge of Army National Guard logistics operations.
  • Previous experience working on military installations.
