Job description

We are seeking a technically proficient Cloud FinOps Analyst to support cloud operations, cost management, and financial governance across a multi-cloud environment, primarily AWS and Azure. This is a hands-on operational role focused on real-time cost monitoring, anomaly investigation, resource optimization, tagging governance, and financial accountability.

The ideal candidate combines strong cloud architecture knowledge with practical FinOps expertise and the ability to work closely with DevOps, engineering, finance, and cloud operations teams.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Monitor cloud environments during business hours and respond promptly to cost anomalies, alerts, and operational issues.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce cloud resource tagging and naming standards to improve cost visibility and allocation accuracy.
  • Analyze cloud usage across AWS, Azure, and GCP to identify cost optimization and resource right-sizing opportunities.
  • Investigate unexpected cost increases, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineering and cloud teams to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage showback and chargeback models and translate cloud billing data into actionable financial insights.
  • Support multi-cloud FinOps governance, policies, and compliance initiatives.
  • Identify and eliminate unused or underutilized resources and other sources of cloud waste.
  • Analyze cloud pricing models, including Savings Plans, Reserved Instances (RIs), and Spot Instances, and provide optimization recommendations.
  • Build and maintain cost reports, dashboards, and metrics for finance, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Partner with technical teams to improve financial accountability and optimize cloud resource configurations.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience in Cloud FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud operations.
  • Strong technical understanding of AWS and Azure architectures, including compute, storage, databases, and networking.
  • Hands-on enterprise experience with Apptio and Cloudability is required.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud resource tagging strategies, automated tagging policies, compliance remediation, and cost allocation.
  • Experience investigating cloud cost anomalies and performing root-cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of cloud pricing and optimization models, including Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and Spot Instances.
  • Experience with cloud billing data, financial reporting, showback/chargeback, and cost allocation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with DevOps, engineering, cloud architecture, finance, and leadership teams.
  • Highly responsive and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
  • AWS and/or Azure technical certifications.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and governance frameworks.
