Job description

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is an educational service company that provides an array of support services in the post-secondary education sector. Formerly part of Grand Canyon University (GCU), GCE still supports and works closely with GCU. GCE designs and develops educational programs for GCU and other traditional campus institutions, as well as online partner institutions at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
An extraordinary career opportunity with an acclaimed leader in the rapidly growing education sector, Grand Canyon University is currently seeking a talented, energetic Admissions Manager for our Traditional Ground Campus.
This position manages an assigned team(s) of University Admissions Counselors responsible for identifying prospective potential student populations, cultivating and acquiring new students. Responsible for sales functions and demand generation activities in an assigned geographic territory and/or College Program. Meets performance objectives including acquisition of new students, sales interviews/presentations and prospecting/development of new markets.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages, motivates and ensures assigned staff meets goals through mentoring, advising, counseling and communicating.
  • Plans, manages and drives revenue/student growth for the assigned market territory.
  • Prospects, develops and secures prospective students. Explores new opportunities and develops innovative strategies to generate awareness of GCU's programs and to increase enrollment.
  • Manages new student activities from initial inquiry to admissions.
  • Supports the University's local and national marketing initiatives, promotional campaigns, etc.
  • Conducts targeted follow up to unconverted inquiries through telephone, email, social media and other marketing techniques.
  • Maintains a positive and professional image of the University to the public and potential students.
  • Establishes a visible presence within assigned territory.
  • Plans conferences, meetings and/or presentations to market educational services to assigned territory.
  • Develops and executes the strategy and logistics necessary to cover a large geographic area.
  • Works with GCU's enrollment team to enable seamless enrollment process for contacts and prospects.
  • Contributes to enrollee(s)' experience and positively impacts retention by acting as an advocate for GCU.
  • Plans and organizes logistics for meetings, events and travel.
  • Remains current with GCU's programs, new industry-wide trends and developments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations or a related field. Required.
  • Four years demonstrated successful sales/marketing, or related, experience.
  • Prior experience in managing and mentoring staff and experience in sales/marketing within higher education preferred.
  • Proven sales and/or marketing background and experience in creating and executing sound business plans.
  • Exemplary negotiation and communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Results oriented, self-directed and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial quality.
  • Produces positive results through effective staff coaching, counseling and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to manage geographically dispersed staff.
  • Sound judgment and decision making ability.
  • Must be a strong team player with excellent planning and organizational skills in order to meet or exceed enrollment projections and expectations.
  • Confident, high energy and capable of launching new territories successfully, if necessary.
  • Knowledge of higher-learning environments and programs.
  • Computer/office software proficiency including MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Must have own vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record.
  • Cannot be delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report. If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
