Description:

Overview
At Incline Marketing, we take our clients to new heights, and we can do that thanks to our core values: Honesty, Partners, Experts, Fun. These values influence every decision we make and define the kind of people we welcome to our team.

As our SEO Associate Manager for the fitness vertical, you won’t just be managing tasks; you’ll be leading a talented team of specialists and acting as the backbone of our delivery process. If you thrive on organization, have a sharp eye for SEO detail, and love helping others succeed, you’ll fit right in. Reporting directly to the SEO Manager, you will oversee and take part in the day-to-day operations for a cluster of client accounts, all in the fitness vertical. Your mission is to translate SEO strategies into clear, actionable work plans, ensuring our global team stays aligned, deadlines are met, and every deliverable meets our client standards. This role requires an understanding of SEO best practices, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The salary range for this role is $55k - $75k, based on experience, background, and location.

Why you should join us

  • Standard 40-hour workweek with occasional flexibility to meet sprint deadlines
  • Competitive salary, health and dental insurance, life and disability, 401K, supplemental insurance, FSAs, flexible paid vacation, days, 11 paid holidays and much more!
  • Friendly, collaborative, and fun team!

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Manage a distributed team of SEO specialists, providing daily direction, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • Assign tasks and balance workloads across your team to ensure every goal is met.
  • Lead daily or weekly check-ins to align on priorities and proactively remove any "blockers" slowing the team down.
  • Train team members on SOPs, quality expectations, and client-specific nuances.

Local SEO Subject Matter Expertise

  • Google Business Profile (GBP) management: updates, categories, posts, services, photos, and basic optimization.
  • Citation & listings management: auditing, building, and maintaining consistent NAP across platforms.
  • Local on-page SEO: meta data, location pages, internal linking, structured data basics, and content improvements.
  • Local content support: assisting with outlines/briefs and ensuring content matches keyword intent back and location targeting.
  • Backlinking: develop and execute backlink acquisition strategies with the goal of attaining relevant backlinks that strengthen authority and improve search rankings.

Performance & Communication

  • Keep the SEO Manager informed on project status, capacity constraints, and potential risks.
  • Coordinate monthly reporting (rankings, traffic, GBP insights) and verify that the data tells a clear, accurate story for our clients.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Content, Design, and Web Dev teams to ensure SEO tasks are implemented correctly.
  • Create clear implementation notes and tickets for web changes and follow through to completion.
  • Ensure offshore team communication stays organized and professional across channels.

Reporting, KPIs & Communication

  • Track team output and client delivery KPIs (on-time completion, QA pass rate, backlog, turnaround time).
  • Coordinate monthly reporting inputs (rankings, traffic, conversions, GBP metrics) and confirm accuracy.
  • Escalate issues early (technical blockers, scope creep, capacity constraints, underperformance).
  • Partner closely with the SEO Manager to ensure execution matches strategy and client expectations

What We’re Looking For

  • 3 years minimum of SEO experience, with strong familiarity in local SEO and multi-location businesses.
  • 1+ year experience managing a team (or acting as a lead with QA/ownership responsibilities).
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals: keyword research, on-page SEO, local SEO, basic technical SEO, backlinking, and reporting.
  • Experience managing workflow and deliverables across multiple client accounts.
  • Comfortable working across time zones and building clear systems for accountability.
  • Excellent written communication skills (clear, structured, detail-oriented).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize under deadlines.
  • Familiarity with tools typically used in SEO including: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, BrightLocal, AgencyAnalytics, Ahrefs/Semrush/Moz, Screaming Frog, project management tools (i.e. Asana).

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Deep experience with citation tools and directory management at scale.
  • Strong Q/A background (checklists, SOP building, error reduction systems).
  • Experience training remote teams or managing remote-first production workflows.
  • Content briefing experience for local service pages and location pages.
