Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Gateway Technician to support the operation, maintenance, integration, and performance of satellite communications gateway systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability of critical gateway infrastructure through equipment testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational support. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and experienced in supporting complex communications systems in a mission-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage inventory of gateway equipment, components, and associated assets.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and support gateway infrastructure, including antennas, RF equipment, frequency converters, and related systems.
  • Perform system diagnostics using specialized test equipment, including spectrum analyzers and other RF testing tools.
  • Conduct integration, validation, and performance testing of gateway components and subsystems.
  • Monitor gateway performance metrics and identify reliability or operational issues.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, technical documentation, and integration guides.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to geographically dispersed locations as required.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and continuous operational readiness initiatives.
  • Travel to operational sites as needed to support installations, upgrades, maintenance, or troubleshooting efforts. 

Qualifications 

Education

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent military or professional experience may be considered.
  • Relevant industry certifications in satellite communications, RF systems, networking, or electronics are a plus. 

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of experience supporting satellite communications, RF systems, gateway operations, telecommunications infrastructure, or related technical environments. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting satellite communications networks or gateway operations.
  • Familiarity with RF signal analysis, antenna systems, and communications infrastructure.
  • Experience performing equipment integration, testing, and validation activities.
  • Knowledge of system reliability monitoring and performance analysis.
  • Experience developing technical procedures and operational documentation.
  • Previous experience supporting geographically distributed operations or remote sites.
  • Experience working in highly regulated or mission-critical environments.

  • Ability to inspect, install, or troubleshoot equipment in equipment rooms, communications facilities, or outdoor environments as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel domestically as required to support operational locations.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined equipment spaces, and perform site inspections when necessary. 

Additional Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance Required
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
