Job description

Titan Security is hiring Security officers to work Gates & Docks at a location in Burns Harbor, Indiana.

Duties may include:

  • Ensure high visibility by periodically stopping and patrolling different areas of the lot to deter criminal activity.
  • Ensure that individuals attempting to enter the facility have proper identification and access passes, such as badges, cards, or visitor passes.
  • Ensure that only authorized personnel and vehicles are entering or exiting the lot by checking identification, vehicle registration, or other access control protocols.
  • Checking semi trucks paperwork and directing them to the proper Gate.
  • Understanding Marsec (Maritime Security) procedures.
  • Conduct Marsec vehicle inspections.
  • Conduct general patrols on foot and within a vehicle to check for security violations like unsafe conditions or unauthorized persons.
  • Control access for patrons, visitors or vendors as required.
  • Continuously monitor CCTV cameras placed around the gate area to identify suspicious activities, unauthorized entry, or any security breaches.
  • Keep a detailed log of all trucks entering or leaving the premises, including company name, driver name, truck ID number, cargo type, and delivery or pick-up details.
  • Watch for suspicious behavior, loitering individuals, or any signs of illegal activities such as theft and vandalism.
  • Immediately report any security breaches, safety hazards, or emergencies to the appropriate authorities or management, and document the incident thoroughly.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Able to meet physical essential functions of the job, which can include lifting 75 lbs, completing foot patrols, sitting, standing, walking, driving for a significant period of time, walking up and down stairs, working in inclement weather.

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Ability to obtain a TWIC Card.

Preferred Certifications: NRC Certification.
