Position Summary

The AC Hotel San Diego Downtown Gaslamp Quarter is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and guest-focused Night Auditor to join our Front Office team. As the overnight ambassador of our hotel, you will provide exceptional guest service while ensuring the accuracy of the hotel's daily financial transactions and completing the nightly audit process.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, excels in customer service, and has a passion for hospitality. You will play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences while maintaining the integrity of the hotel's financial records.

What You'll Do

Guest Experience

  • Welcome guests with warm, professional, and genuine hospitality experience.
  • Complete guest check-in and check-out efficiently and accurately.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Process room reservations, modifications, and cancellations when needed.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment throughout the overnight shift.

Night Audit Responsibilities

  • Perform the nightly audit and close out the day's business in accordance with Marriott and company standards.
  • Verify and balance all Front Office transactions.
  • Audit room revenue, food and beverage revenue, guest accounts, and cash receipts.
  • Reconcile cashier reports and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Post room charges, payments, and adjustments accurately.
  • Generate and distribute daily management, accounting, and operational reports.
  • Prepare financial documentation for the Accounting Department.
  • Ensure all reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.

Team Support

  • Communicate important guest information and operational updates to the morning team.
  • Assist other hotel departments during overnight operations as needed.
  • Support emergency procedures and respond appropriately to guest or hotel incidents.
  • Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.

What are we looking for?

Preferred Experience

  • One or more years of Front Desk, Guest Services, or hospitality experience.
  • Previous Night Audit experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Marriott systems, including FOSSE, GXP, or similar hotel property management systems is preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional guest service and communication skills.

Schedule Requirements

  • Overnight shift (typically 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
