Gas Pipeline Jobs in Raleigh, NC (NOW HIRING)

The I&E/Pipeline Technician maintains, operates, and troubleshoots terminal and pipeline assets including, but not limited to: PLC's, HMI's, motor controls, industrial processes, and low, medium, and high voltage. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• The ability to read at a level to understand written safety procedures, work procedures, blueprints, P&ID's, work permits, and technical instruction manuals is required.
• Understanding of the National Electrical Code
• Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and is familiarity with AC voltage (120v thru 4800v) three phase and single phase plus 24 & 48 VDC is required.
• Qualified to work on single and 3 phase AC equipment up to 4160 volts is preferred.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's, hardware, and software platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of HMI's and SCADA systems.
• Capability to maintain, repair, and calibrate sampling equipment along with electronic, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems for industrial processes
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems in facility.
• Experience with troubleshooting of equipment.
• Knowledge of the general design and operation of liquid pipeline is preferred.
• Experience and knowledge of industry related maintenance and repair standards is preferred.
• Knowledge of centrifugal pumps, regulators, MOVs, electronic controls and medium electrical voltage with an understanding of NGL or liquid pipelines is preferred.
• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
• A minimum of 5 years of electrical and instrumentation experience preferably with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the operation and maintenance, of a hazardous liquid or gas pipeline facility, or a similar facility/system.
• Ability to learn pipeline locating and oversee excavations and line crossings.
• Ability to interact with landowners.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment is required.
• The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
• The ability to work without direct supervision, take a leadership role and prioritize and respond to multiple tasks.
• Able to work with a team and work alone
• The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a businesslike and professional manner is required.
• Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues. Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.
• Works indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
• Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position.
• Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., and apply up to 100-foot lbs. of torque. 
• Must be able to wear company provided PPE including a respirator.
• A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• VoTech certificate or associate degree in Electrical/Electronics.
• The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
• Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
• Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
• The ability to modify communication style to influence, persuade, negotiate, and engage all parties according to the audience and circumstance is required.
• The ability to demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability and commitment to the role, team and company.
• Works in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment. 
• Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools. 
• Routinely reacts to visual, audible, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
• Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads. 
• Must live or relocate to within 1 hour of reporting location.
• Monday - Friday 8 hr./day normal work schedule
• The ability to take callouts and work overtime is required.
• Available for Emergency Response
• The ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time is required
