The Cylinder Filler is responsible for safely handling andfilling gas products into liquid, medical and high-pressure gas cylinders incompliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting The Company'sstandard operating procedures. This position reports directly to the ProductionManager or Operations Manager.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Function
Fills allgas cylinders, high and low pressure, and liquid containers in accordance withsafety procedures, quality
Understandshazards of various gases, size and contents of cylinders by reading andinterpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Accurately labelscylinders.
Comply withsafety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which areapplicable to this position's responsibilities
Movement ofcylinders as required in the plant. May be required to load and unload trucks.
Completesall documentation and forms in compliance with company policy and FDArequirements during the fill process.
Accuratelyand legibly ensures products are labeled properly, with current decals and lotnumbers. Forms include daily production report, FDA log sheet, LabelVerification form, Calibration form and Bulk log sheet.
Tests allgases and documents results on compression log report accurately and legibly
Complieswith all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardousmaterials/cylinder gases.
Maintains aneat, clean and orderly workplace through proper housekeeping procedures
Monitors andmaintains sufficient stock to meet customer demand
Monitorsinventory of empty cylinders prepared and ready for filling.
May berequired to maintain cylinders and repair filling equipment, such as pigtails,fill hoses, valves and safeties.
Sets tonefor employees by good example through observation of the company's loss preventionpolicies and procedures.
Adheres toall quality assurance policies and standards
Reportsaccidents including near misses, unsafe acts or conditions and obeys safetyrules.
Performsother duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Education - High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
Preferred knowledge/experience in gas, welding and safetysupply industry or chemical industry 1-3 years experience in the gas/weldingindustry as a warehouse worker or a driver
Required KSAs
Excellentcustomer service skills
Strongverbal and written communication skills
Strong levelof attention to detail.
Ability toread and comprehend material safety data sheets.
Ability towork independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Able to workflexible hours (within 2-3 hours of starting and quitting times).
Ability toperform math functions and analysis as needed by the position.
Ability tosafely operate a forklift.
Must be ableto read and write and perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity.
Must be ableto work with a wide variety of people with different personalities andbackgrounds
Must be ableto push cart 200 + lb. cylinders and bend/lift 50+lb containers.
