Overview
Senior Gas Inspector position that provides distribution and/or transmission support for client 3rd party contractor work on existing assets and facilities. Position will perform inspection as related to general gas line construction/testing to ensure customer specifications are met. Candidates will inspect contractors work for job quality to determine structural soundness and compliance with specifications, building codes, and other regulations. Inspections may be general in nature or may be limited to a specific area, such as Gas Pipe, Trenching and/or Shoring. AWS CWI, NACE I, and API 1169 required for this position.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect structures as related to gas line construction/testing and ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Coordinate and inspect contractors work for job quality to determine structural soundness and compliance with specifications, building codes, and other regulations.
  • Inspections may be general in nature or may be limited to a specific area, such as Gas Pipe systems, Trenching and/or Shoring.
  • Responsible for and performs visual welding inspections of contractor's work.
  • Inspect pipe installations, care of pipe being constructed, responsible for radiographic documents, weld numbers and assigned welder Id Numbers, etc.
  • Perform redline/as-builts on drawings updates.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are those an applicant must possess to be considered a candidate for the position.
  • API 1169
  • AWS CWI
  • NACE I
  • 3 ½ years' experience
  • Union Member IBEW 1245
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Capable of maintaining a high energy level to handle a dynamic, fast-paced workload
  • Excellent organizational skills

Typical Working Conditions:
Rural and urban working environments. Typical pipeline/distribution ROW and work areas. Inspectors will be working in the elements that are consistent with the seasons.
Equipment Used
Computer, laptop, cell phone, standard pipeline battery operated hand instrumentation, i.e. Fluke meter.
Essential Physical Tasks
Getting in and out of vehicle, walking in the elements and on uneven terrain on job sites.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
