Job description

Job Title: Senior Oil & Gas Accountant Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $90000 - $120000 Contractor Work Model: Hybrid

Senior Oil & Gas Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Accountant to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing account activity, and supporting financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle general ledger accounting and journal entries

  • Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end close

  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports

  • Analyze account activity and investigate variances

  • Maintain fixed asset and oil & gas property accounting records

  • Support Joint Interest Billing (JIB), revenue accounting, and financial reporting

  • Assist with audit and tax support as needed

  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve accounting issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or related field preferred

  • 7+ years of oil & gas accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and oil & gas accounting practices

  • Experience with JIB, revenue accounting, and month-end close

  • Experience with Wolfepak or similar oil & gas accounting systems

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
