Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is pivotal in supporting our US Warfighters and The AbilityOne program, Contributing to ReadyOne Industries Mission. Aid Sewing Supervisors to achieve the objectives of the Production Line for a safe, timely and cost-efficient production of first quality product. Must have ability to sew four or more operations in his/her area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develop and implement strategies that ensure operational activities align with ReadyOne's cultural behaviors of accountability, diversity, honesty, collaboration, empathy, innovation, passion, and effective communication.
  2. Adhere to and execute company policies and procedures while driving continuous improvement across all operational processes.
  3. Participate and follow the mandatory Total Quality Management system - QMS schedules.
  4. Assure attendance to the mandatory ROI Training and Development curriculum.
  5. Assures understanding and participation in the Performance Management process.
  6. Support Sewing Supervisor in balancing and controlling production lines to achieve the objectives of the organization.
  7. Responsible for operating key line equipment during times of manpower shortage, absenteeism, and sickness.
  8. Absorb workloads of various sewing operations and sewing quantities. Sewing assignments may be short term or long term in nature.
  9. Produce at a minimum of 80% on 2 of 4 key operations or 60% on 3 of 4 key operations (Class III)
  10. Responsible for maintaining and updating all training initiatives and employee records
  11. Maintain employee relations that motivate and reward all employees to support and achieve the business goals.
  12. Communicate to Sewing Supervisor any environment and employee issues affecting the workplace.
  13. Participate and support safety programs to promote and encourage a safe work environment.
  14. Partner with appropriate individuals to resolve issues related to production and quality to achieve goals.
  15. Develop effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  16. Assist in the supervision of employees in production lines.
  17. May carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  18. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: Two years work experience in sewing or other industry.
  • Specific Skills: Must be able to follow verbal or written instructions. Bilingual: English/Spanish with leadership skills. Have the ability to proficiently operate tacking equipment and automatic equipment (set pockets, welt pockets, set hook/loop, snap fastening etc.). Candidate must have relevant experience with three and four thread serge equipment and safety-stitch machinery.
  • Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: None required.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Good mechanical aptitude to be able to make machine adjustments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 45 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, death perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for longer than eight hours of time.
  • Frequently sits bends, kneels, twist and turn and reaches out with hands/arms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
