Job description

JOIN LANE COUNTY'S LEADING LANDSCAPE SUPPLIER! Lane Forest Products has a full time opening for a Garden Center Associate position at our Corner Store location in Glenwood.

Our team focuses on quality with an emphasis on customer service. If you’re a person who has nursery or garden center experience, this may be the perfect job for you.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly customer service and ensure customer needs are being met
  • Assist customers with plant selections
  • Advise customers about plant care, watering and fertilizing best practices
  • Display trees, shrubs and accessories in retail garden center
  • Ensure the retail yard is stocked with sufficient quantities of merchandise
  • Assist in ordering and receiving merchandise
  • Accurate Cash handling
  • Operate Forklift, Front End Loader and complete all associated training and reviews as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of nursery or retail garden center experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of inventory management including buying, appropriate in-stock levels, and retail pricing preferred.
  • Must have the ability to operate a Forklift and a Front-End Loader (training provided)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day.
