Job description

The Grange Supply Issaquah is looking to hire a Lawn & Garden Lead. We are a Cooperative feedstore located in the heart of Issaquah. Our active Lawn & Garden department specializes in native plants, organics and edibles. The Grange Supply is passionate about supporting our community, who regularly seek out our associates for experience and advice; customer service and community relations are a large part of this job. Expect to be on your feet and working with customers a lot! This position is also responsible for ordering and maintaining all live goods spring – fall, as well as working with our buyer to select and promote inventory.  
 
Key Responsibilities 

  • Customer service delivered with enthusiasm and genuine interest in ensuring customer satisfaction. 
  • Guide customers to the right product or solution for their needs. 
  • Communicating clearly, effectively, and politely with customers in store and over the phone 
  • Stocking and receiving deliveries. 
  • Daily tending of plants (watering, pruning, etc.) 
  • Maintain a clean and safe store that feels like home to customers and teammates. 
  • Merchandise and maintain lawn and garden department aisles, including fertilizers, planters and soils, seed, chemicals, live goods, lawn and garden hand and power tools for optimal appearance and sales potential  
  • Order and maintain live goods from early spring until fall. 
  • Take lead role in seasonal transition from wide Lawn and Garden displays into seasonal displays, and then back again. 
  • Job responsibilities may change based upon the needs of the business. Some basic retail functions will be required such as cashiering, customer service in other departments and helping in other areas as needs arise. 

 
Requirements: 
 

  • Familiarity with lawn & garden products/ horticulture 
  • People skills and an ability to advise and sell lawn and garden products to meet customer needs. 
  • Willingness to learn 
  • Team player 
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time  
  • Ability to multitask 
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet business needs 
  • Retail experience preferred 
  • Be able to sit, bend, stand, move around the store, and lift items of up to 25lbs.  
  • Be able to use common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets. 
  • Assist in inventory counts, price changes and spot checks throughout the year.
