Job description

Forklift Operator

Safely drive a forklift while keeping up with the needs of production.

  • Check forklift's vital fluids before shift and fill out checklist form.
  • Move empty totes so production workers can dump fruit in them.
  • Move full totes of product to location determined by supervisor.
  • Retrieve syrup containers of the correct variety of syrup as instructed by supervisor or lead.
  • Keep production area clean by removing totes and pallets of garbage/recyclable materials (cardboard, plastics)
  • Bring correct pallets of fruit to be dumped
  • Keep forklift in good clean condition
  • Do general production work when asked to by the supervisor

Employment Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a forklift.
  • Ability to perform tasks properly and promptly with little supervision.
  • Firm understanding of inventory and material flow.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills.
  • Team player attitude with attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

This position also requires the ability to stand, kneel, walk, bend over, and reach as necessary when dealing with totes and tote tags. Occasional lifting of 50lbs. is also required. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work and overtime as needed.
