Job description

Job Overview
J.B.J.S. Inc. is a sub-contracting company with Rumpke Waste of Cincinnati. We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Trash Collector to join our waste management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste materials from residential and commercial areas. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer service, as well as the ability to operate various types of garbage trucks. Must be able to pass drug test and background check. Clean driving record. While being trained employee will be paid $23/hour. When certified, solo driver paid $25/hour and will reach scale, $31, in 3-5 years. Health, vision, and dental insurance is paid for 100%. Company matches 3% to simple IRA.

Responsibilities

  • Clock in at 1:30-2:00 am and clock out at approximately 10-11 am.
  • Operate rear loader for waste collection.
  • Safely drive and navigate through designated routes while adhering to traffic laws.
  • Load and unload waste materials efficiently and safely.
  • Perform routine inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and the public regarding collection schedules and services.
  • Assist in heavy lifting of waste containers and ensure proper disposal of materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment used during operations.

Skills

  • Proficiency in driving commercial vehicles.
  • Experience with heavy lifting and physical labor is essential. (at least 75 lbs.)
  • Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and adherence to regulations.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Be able to work in all weather.
