Job description

General Description The Rubbish Site Attendant will manage the rubbish site during hours of operation. The Rubbish Site Attendant will verify that people using the facility are residents of De Pere and the items meet the guidelines for acceptable items. Work Schedule: The Rubbish Site Attendant works April 1st through November 30th.

The hours of operation for the Rubbish Site are Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The hours may be shared between two employees and additional hours may be available for other duties as assigned. Hours may change based on building construction.

Essential Functions Open/close rubbish site facility. Manage the rubbish site during hours of operation. Interact with public.

Check license information to verify they are residents. Direct the public as to where items need to be deposited at the rubbish site. Inform non-residents and residents with unacceptable items of other facilities that may accept the rubbish.

Monitor the items being brought to site to make sure they are compliant with the rubbish drop off site list of acceptable items. Ensure the rubbish site is maintained in an orderly fashion. Set up and create data tracking regarding the use of the site.

Maintain prompt, predictable and reliable attendance. Maintain the ability to lawfully operate a motor vehicle. Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to perform a variety of tasks without close supervision.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public. Ability to work the required hours of the position.

Minimum Requirements & Physical Requirements Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age Valid unencumbered Wisconsin driver's license and safe driving record. Physical requirements: Ability to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work outside dealing with all elements of weather.
