Door Works is looking for a Garage Door Sales & Service Technician to join our growing team in Elmwood Park, NJ. This unique role combines hands-on garage door service with consultative, in-home sales. You'll diagnose issues, educate homeowners, recommend the right solutions, and complete quality repairs while building lasting customer relationships.

No two days are the same-and your earning potential is directly tied to your performance.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, repair, and service residential and light commercial garage door systems, including springs, cables, openers, rollers, tracks, and panels.

  • Perform detailed safety inspections and preventative maintenance.

  • Present repair and replacement options that best meet each customer's needs and budget.

  • Educate homeowners on products, upgrades, and preventative maintenance.

  • Provide exceptional customer service while closing sales with honesty and professionalism.

  • Document completed work with notes and photos using company technology.

  • Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and safe work environment.

  • Work closely with dispatch and teammates to ensure an outstanding customer experience.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience (consultative, in-home, retail, or outside sales preferred).

  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools.

  • Previous garage door, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, automotive, or other skilled trade experience is a plus.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds, climb ladders, and work safely in a physically active environment.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
