Experienced Residential Garage Door Installer

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Residential Garage Door Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience installing, repairing, and servicing residential garage doors and openers while providing outstanding customer service. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install residential garage doors, garage door openers, and related hardware.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with garage doors and opener systems.
• Replace springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, weather seals, and other components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
• Educate homeowners on proper operation and maintenance of their garage door systems.
• Complete service tickets, work orders, and installation documentation accurately.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
• Operate lift equipment and ladders to access elevated installation points.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service on every job.
• Ensure work areas are clean and organized.
• Assist with unloading products from delivery trucks and organizing inventory.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of residential garage door installation and service experience.
• Strong knowledge of garage door systems, torsion and extension springs, openers, and safety devices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair residential garage door issues efficiently.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout shifts.
• Ability to operate lift equipment and ladders to access elevated installation points.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Open to a flexible schedule, including early morning shifts and weekends as needed.
• Available to work overtime
• Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to company dress code standards.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with leading garage door brands and opener systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Customer service or sales experience, including identifying opportunities for additional products or services.
• OSHA or other safety certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials.
• Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periods.
• Safely use power tools, hand tools, ladders, and lifting equipment.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout shifts.
• Work in residential environments under varying weather conditions.
