Job description

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Head of Production carries the crucial responsibility of ensuring the timely delivery and impeccable quality of our games. Working collaboratively with internal departments and external partners, this role will oversee the identification, selection, negotiation, and ongoing management of external game developers and third parties, ensuring the delivery of high-quality games within established budgets and schedules.

In addition to managing a team of game producers, the Head of Production maintains oversight of all projects handled by the team, ensuring clear communication of product goals, project progress, quality, and any associated risks. This role will also be responsible for project communication and reporting with stakeholders and executive management, as well as external stakeholders.

Essential Functions:
  • Leadership:
    • Partner with Senior Management to implement product features, driving alignment with strategic objectives
    • Manage and develop a team of producers, fostering their growth and advancement within the organization
  • Production Management: Oversee project schedules to ensure timely delivery while upholding quality standards
  • Financials: Own the roadmap from a cost and budget perspective, ensuring fiscal responsibility throughout the production process
  • Risk Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate operational and project risks, ensuring smooth project execution
  • Communication:
    • Act as the primary liaison with external partners, ensuring clarity and collaboration for successful project outcomes
    • Provide consistent and clear updates on project status to stakeholders, maintaining transparency and alignment
    • Partner with various business departments to ensure overall team and project success
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Identify, assign, and track the resolution of development and operational issues, driving projects to completion
    • Address complex challenges, balancing priorities across teams and disciplines to achieve optimal outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Over 12 years of game development experience in production
  • Previous roles include Lead Producer, Executive Producer or Production Director
  • Exceptional communication skills, fostering effective collaboration across diverse development disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to self-prioritize and execute tasks autonomously, setting a benchmark for excellence
  • Proven track record of production experience that demonstrates concurrent management of multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines and budgets with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • In-depth understanding of various production methodologies, enabling efficient project management practices
