Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehab | Barre, VT
Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehab is seeking an experienced and energetic Activities Director to join our skilled nursing facility in Barre, Vermont.
The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Activity Programs in accordance with resident needs and facility goals. This role ensures the emotional, recreational, social, spiritual, and educational needs of residents are met through meaningful and engaging programming.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule activities, events, movies, parties, games, crafts, projects, and community outings at least one month in advance
  • Develop and implement activity programs that meet the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and educational needs of residents
  • Conduct routine resident interviews, visits, and family consultations to identify activity interests and preferences
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote independence, wellness, creativity, and socialization
  • Ensure residents are assisted with activity participation in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans
  • Coordinate and oversee resident shopping requests and outings
  • Assist with management and monitoring of the resident smoking program in accordance with facility policies
  • Organize and facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings
  • Maintain accurate activity documentation and charting within PCC (PointClickCare)
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers as needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to enhance residents' quality of life
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations related to activities programming
Education & Qualifications
  • Certified Activity Director with long-term care experience preferred
  • Previous experience working under a Certified Activity Consultant is desirable
  • NCCAP Certification preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience with PCC (PointClickCare) preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved exemption is presented upon hire
