Responsibilities

Overview

If you've ever wondered what determines how a game feels to play-and why players keep coming back-it starts with the math!

We're hiring a Game Mathematician II to build and refine the systems that drive gameplay, payouts, and player experience across IGT's portfolio.

You'll be working at the intersection of math, software engineering, and game design-partnering with cross-functional teams to turn concepts into fully realized games, test how they perform, and fine-tune the logic behind every outcome.

What You'll Do

Design and implement mathematical models and game logic that define gameplay and payouts

Create and maintain PAR sheets, pay tables, and supporting math documentation

Develop tools and models to validate game logic and underlying data

Collaborate with art, audio, engineering, and design teams to align math with player experience

Play-test games in development and refine math based on simulations, testing, and player feedback

Analyze market performance data to identify trends and inform future game mechanics

Ensure math designs meet jurisdictional requirements and industry standards

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

2+ years of experience in mathematical modeling, game math, casino game math, or similar quantitative work

Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field

Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and combinatorics

Advanced Excel skills for modeling and analysis

Programming experience or familiarity with Python, Java, C#, or C++

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

Ability to collaborate within a cross-disciplinary game development team

Curiosity and initiative to explore new ideas and improve gameplay
