Job Description
As an entry-level Service Center Repair Technician, you'll handle the most common customer technology needs by using systems and tools to efficiently diagnose and repair products. You'll perform troubleshooting and repairs on desktops, laptops, gaming consoles, mobile phones, accessories and components. To protect customer data privacy, you'll sanitize all media or storage-like devices using proprietary tools and systems. If you have strong change management, attention to detail and organizational skills, this is the right role for you. Demonstrated success in this role carries the opportunity for promotion to an advanced-level repair technician role.
This role takes place at Geek Squad city, our 240,000-square-foot repair center in Brooks, Kentucky.
What you'll do
  • Answer customers' questions regarding cost, product installation, operation and issue prevention
  • Troubleshoot products for repair and complete routine functionality and quality testing
  • Document repair work and customer communications and partner with leadership to manage work-in-process repairs
  • Track units and corresponding parts to ensure customer satisfaction and inventory integrity
  • Stay up to date with company-provided vendor certifications and trainings

Basic qualifications
  • 6 months of experience troubleshooting and repairing technology products
  • 6 months of experience using Microsoft Office
  • Able to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized
  • Able to lift weight up to 25 pounds with or without accommodation
  • Able to multitask and demonstrate strong attention to detail

Preferred qualifications
  • Consumer electronics manufacturer repair certification
  • 6 months of experience using proprietary or inventory-related systems
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
