This is a short-term project hire based in San Francisco, with the successful candidate required to be located in the Bay Area.

Known for blending best-in-class visuals, sound and narrative, the team has delivered award-winning projects such as What Ifโ€ฆ? โ€“ An Immersive Story, Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series and the Oscar-winning CARNE y ARENA. Our work continues to push the boundaries of immersive entertainment and redefine how audiences engage with story.

We are seeking a QA Analyst who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, and passion for great storytelling that defines ILM.

Quality Assurance Analysts are responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our immersive experiences by implementing test plans, executing test cases and scripts, and tracking/documenting software and product features and flaws.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Perform manual build verification, regression, and general testing for quality & performance.
  • Work directly with the development teams.
  • Assist in the refinement and improvements of test procedures and test plans.
  • Provide assistance to Designers and Engineers, regarding game-play and game-balance analysis.
  • Identify and report defects and deficiencies to maintain a high quality level with our products.
  • Test and verify quality of software and internal tools.
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • 3+ years experience as a QA Analyst / Compatibility Technician / Development Tester in the game industry or related field
  • Ability to follow rigorous quality assurance processes.
  • Thorough understanding of the importance of QA and testing.
  • Ability to evaluate and develop complicated processes and suggest improvements effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of JIRA or equivalent bug/issue tracking software tools.
  • Industry experience in production, QA, or software development.
  • PC, Console (PlayStation, XBOX, etc.) game testing experience.
  • Past experience testing mobile games (iOS/Android, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision while still maintaining productivity.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Bonus points for:
    • Experience testing mobile hardware devices, VR, and/or network connectivity.
    • Previous experience with Unreal Engine.

The hiring range for this position in San Francisco is $60,800 to $81,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidateโ€™s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
