Job description

Aquinas College, a member of the NAIA, is seeking a part-time assistant men’s rugby coach who will be responsible for aiding and supporting the Head Men’s Rugby Coach. The ideal candidate will uphold and promote the mission of Aquinas College while assisting in building a competitive and academically successful men’s rugby program rooted in integrity, leadership, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

● Assist the Head Men’s Rugby Coach in all aspects of the men’s rugby program, including coaching, recruitment, player development, game preparation, and in-game strategy.

● Responsible for assisting the Head Coach in meeting the required roster numbers by recruiting and retaining student-athletes who align with the values and academic standards of Aquinas College.

● Foster a positive team culture within both the varsity and reserve team that emphasizes personal development, academic achievement, sportsmanship, and service.

● Assist with the coordination of scheduling of practices, games, and team travel in compliance with college and conference guidelines.

● Ensure compliance within the conference and institutional rules and regulations.

● Other duties as assigned by Head Coach---

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

● Proven experience coaching men’s rugby at the collegiate level or equivalent high-level experience.

● Demonstrated success in recruiting, leadership, and program development.

● Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel as needed.
